Job SummaryThis role serves as a site lead in Human Resources.
As such you will:
Advise management and employees, provide information to ensure company human resources programs, policies and procedures are administered in an effective, consistent and legal manner Experience consulting with officer and director level professionals Identify human resources needs for assigned groups within the business unit Collaborate and work with management and others in human resources community to develop strategies and plans to address needs identified and to integrate human resources strategies and plans with business strategies and plans Coordinate administration of broad array of human resources programs such as engagement and development of leaders and employees, succession and workforce planning, transfer/relocation policy interpretation, staffing/position posting system, performance management, compensation/salary administration and pay for performance processing, leadership training, Intern programs, etc.
Provide tools to address a wide variety of complex HR issues and initiatives including compliance, employee relations, investigations, equitable and consistent treatment of employees, change management and problem resolution Gather and compile data, perform analysis and make recommendations Provide interpretation of union contract to line management and attend and participate in grievance process by providing input and advice to management and employees May work on HR initiatives or project teamsRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceTo be successful in this role you should have:
Minimum 7
years directly related HR experience as an HR Business Partner/Generalist (Note:
A Master''s degree will count as one year of experience.
A partial year of experience of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience.
) Experience leading the HR function at a site is preferred.
Prior utility HR experience preferred.
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor Strong working knowledge of performance management, employee relations, pay and staffing trends and practices Ability to build strong partnerships, through teamwork, and open communication with management, employees and within HR Strong knowledge of HR policies, programs, procedures and relevant government regulations.
Ability to multi-task, exercise independent judgment and decision-making Familiar with VA State employment laws including FML preferred but not required Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong planning and organization skills Excellent interpersonal skills Must be creative and flexible, and able to shift priorities quickly Technology skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications and SAP a plus Preference for a SHRM/HRCI certification (SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/CP)Education RequirementsEducation Level:
